The Set Blurs the Distinction Between Luxury Residence and Five-Star Hotel

A new category of luxury living, Related Companies’ The Set is the first rental building of its kind, blurring the distinction between five-star hotel and luxury residential experience. Catering to the evolving needs of a new hybrid workforce, The Set provides a home or home base for individuals who work in Manhattan a few days per week — or month.

The Set has been designed with the comforts of home at the forefront, with the added conveniences and services of a hotel to meet the ever-changing needs of New Yorkers today. In an era of hybrid, remote, and global work, The Set provides residents flexible amenity spaces and always-on social programming within The Set Club to support each resident’s professional and social ambitions.

The future of work (and play)

Dedicated to work and play, amenity offerings focus on moments of social interaction and discovery. Flexible lounge spaces for moments of retreat or gathering, a private dining room, game rooms, rooftop pool, and outdoor dining areas allow residents to entertain guests and colleagues. The Set’s co-working space includes multiple seating clusters that have been designed to support deep work (private working booths), light work (laptop bar and lounges), collaborative meetings (conference rooms), casual meetings (situated at the space’s oversized library table), or virtual meetings and live-streaming. In addition to a variety of seating options, dividers and clusters have consciously been placed to ensure residents feel a sense of privacy and focus required for deep work. As such, providing multiple seating options throughout the space allows individuals to work simultaneously, while remaining comfortable.

Built for a 24/7 lifestyle

Built for a 24/7 lifestyle, MAWD’s team of designers worked to create an amenity space tailored to support residents as they move through each moment of the day. From an early morning workout and coffee, to a mid-day meeting in The Set’s dedicated conference rooms, to an evening apéritif on the rooftop with a friend or colleague — each space serves a distinct purpose, while being flexible enough to serve individual needs.
