The Dorcol Residence: Design Taking Shape in Belgrade
From a river inspired architectural concept to a furnished show apartment, MAWD’s first concept architecture project for Brixwell Investment is moving into its next chapter, with growing market interest and two European Property Awards.
Set between the Danube and Dorćol’s historic streets, The Dorcol Residence takes its architectural cues from movement along the river. MAWD’s design translates that idea into gently curving forms, stepped terraces, bronze framed details and full height glazing that opens homes to views of the city and the new Linear Park. Recent site updates show the project’s first clear outlines emerging. It is a significant moment for MAWD: the project is our first concept architecture development, and a chance to shape a contemporary Belgrade residence around the character of its setting.
That design can now be experienced in person at the project’s showroom in Loznička 7–9. The opening event on 8 October introduced visitors to a furnished apartment showing one of the three available turnkey interior packages. Its living room, kitchen and bedroom make the choices of colour, texture and finish tangible.
Across the wider project, the material story includes Antolini natural stone, Listone Giordano flooring and Atlas Concorde ceramics, alongside Schüco aluminium systems and Samsung heating and cooling. These considered specifications sit alongside MAWD’s interior approach, which brings together crafted joinery, layered surfaces, book matched marble, warm metallic details and lighting designed to shift the mood of a space.
The project’s reception has been encouraging: Brixwell Investment reported that its first 100 residences sold within 47 days, and the developer’s recent updates describe continued progress on site and a new phase of sales. The Dorćol Residence has now received two European Property Awards for 2026–2027, in the Apartment / Condominium and Architecture Multiple Residence categories.
