Inside Italian Craftsmanship: Karen Leung Explores the World of Boffi | DePadova in Milan

MAWD, Interior Designer Karen Leung was invited to Milan for an exclusive two-day immersion into the world of Boffi | DePadova.
From a guided visit through the Lentate sul Seveso factory to curated tours of the brand’s Solferino, Manzoni and Santa Cecilia showrooms, the experience offered a deep dive into Boffi’s signature precision engineering and DePadova’s refined modular living systems.
Karen explored new and heritage collections across kitchens, wardrobes, and living systems—each defined by minimalist innovation, Italian craft, and an architectural purity that aligns with MAWD’s own design values. With moments of cultural inspiration at Villa Necchi Campiglio, and Milan’s celebrated hospitality at Portrait Milano, the trip was a celebration of creative exchange and international design dialogue.

During her visit Karen selected some of her favourite pieces including the Sunset Armchair — appreciated for its exposed wood structure and soft, low-profile proportions that lend a grounded, architectural presence to a space.
She also noted the DT Light 25 pendant for its clean linear form and sense of quiet rhythm, a considered piece that plays with light and shadow without overwhelming the room.
Finally, the Honore Low Table, with its minimal cylindrical base and richly textured surface, stood out for its material restraint and balance — a study in understated design that complements a curated interior.
