Mandarin Oriental Residences, Fifth Avenue, Continues to Earn Global Recognition
Recognition across the global design and branded residences sectors highlights the project’s considered approach to contemporary New York living.
MAWD’s interiors for Mandarin Oriental Residences, Fifth Avenue continue to receive recognition across the international design and branded residences sectors. The project has been shortlisted for the inaugural 2026 Global Branded Residence Awards in The Americas: Best Branded Residence category, named a Regional Category Award Winner in the 2026 SBID International Design Awards® and recognised as a winner in the 2026 BIP Global Interior Design Awards.
At the Mandarin Oriental Residences, Fifth Avenue, MAWD designed the interiors across the private residences and shared spaces, bringing together interior architecture, furnishings and finishes as one cohesive experience. White oak flooring with bronze inlays, limestone, woven wall coverings, sculptural travertine and bespoke furnishings establish a material palette that balances the Art Deco character of the landmark 1920s building with the contemporary identity of Mandarin Oriental.
The recognition reflects an approach to branded residential design that considers the complete experience, from the arrival sequence and fully furnished residences to Boulud Privé, the rooftop pool, lounges, spa and fitness spaces. Across each, the design maintains a sense of continuity while allowing the character of each space to develop in response to its purpose and setting.
