A Designer's Guide to Chicago's West Loop
As MAWD celebrates The Row's grand opening, MAWD Co-Founder Elliot March shares his personal guide to Chicago's West Loop neighborhood and beyond.
8AM: Co-Working at The Row
The Row’s co-working space has been designed to support the ‘work from anywhere’ generation. Luxury now means a seamless transition from work to play with elevated finishes & details.
10AM: Exhibition Space
Wrightwood 659 is a fantastic exhibition space designed by Tadao Ando and conceived to present art and architecture exhibitions. Right now, Tadao Ando sketches are on display through the end of December.
12PM: The Architect’s Pilgrimage
Located about 60 miles from Chicago’s city center, The Edith Farnsworth House was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe between 1945 and 1951, and is not to be missed.
8PM: Dinner at Trivoli Tavern
Within walking distance of The Row is Trivoli Tavern, a neighborhood favorite in Chicago's West Loop. Hidden down uneven cobblestone steps, the tavern has a decadent menu accompanied by a rich, and dimply lit ambience.
Introducing The Row
The most anticipated West Loop project in recent years, The Row provides residents with over 22,600 square feet of intentionally programmed amenity space, and a co-working space designed to support new ‘work from anywhere’ patterns. With architecture from Morris Adjmi Architects, the project maintains a unique indoor - outdoor connection. Learn more about The Row here.
