SBID Industry Day: Defining Luxury Interiors

Exploring bespoke design and the evolving meaning of contemporary luxury.
Jane Maciver, Design Director at MAWD’s London studio, joined an esteemed panel at the SBID Industry Day, hosted at The Landmark London on Friday 19 September during London Design Festival. The event, regarded as one of the industry’s premier networking platforms, brought together leading voices in interior design to share knowledge, insight and inspiration.

Speaking alongside Pasquale Junior Natuzzi, Chief Brand & Creative Officer of Natuzzi, and Sammy Bikoulis, Associate Designer at LXA, Jane shared her perspective on bespoke design and the evolving meaning of luxury in contemporary interiors. The discussion explored how interiors shape not just spaces, but experiences, reflecting the SBID’s commitment to creating conversations that drive the industry forward.
The panel was an inspiring opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow design leaders and to discuss how interiors have the power to define experiences. At MAWD, we see luxury not as excess, but as refinement — tailoring every detail to create meaningful, lasting impact for the people who inhabit a space.

The event also provided an opportunity for MAWD to connect with industry peers and leading suppliers, reinforcing our belief in collaboration as the foundation of meaningful design. Through shared dialogue and exchange, we continue to refine our approach to creating projects that respond to both place and people.
