Set within six acres of beautifully landscaped parkland, One King’s Road Park developed by Berkeley introduces a new expression of contemporary living in one of London’s most storied neighbourhoods. Designed in collaboration with Foster + Partners and Gillespies, the development balances architectural clarity with a softer, more human experience of luxury living. At its centre, MAWD conceived interiors that feel calm, tactile and enduring, rooted in material richness and a refined sense of proportion.

From the outset, our intention for One King’s Road Park was to create interiors that felt deeply connected to both the landscape and the legacy of Chelsea. We wanted the spaces to embody a quiet sense of luxury through materiality, proportion and light, creating homes that feel timeless, calm and intuitively liveable. Every detail was considered to balance architectural clarity with warmth and human experience, resulting in a residential environment that feels both sophisticated and enduring.
The amenity spaces at One King’s Road Park were conceived as an extension of the residential experience, blending the intimacy of a private members’ club with the comfort and familiarity of home. Designed by MAWD as a series of interconnected environments, the arrival lounges, bar and dining spaces introduce a more social rhythm to everyday living while maintaining a calm and refined atmosphere throughout.
Drawing inspiration from the heritage of Chelsea and the cultural legacy of the King’s Road, the interiors were designed to evoke quiet sophistication rather than overt opulence. Soft tonal palettes, natural stone, brushed metals and finely detailed joinery create a layered residential experience that feels both timeless and contemporary. Spaces unfold with restraint and balance, allowing natural light, texture and craftsmanship to define the atmosphere throughout each residence.
The design language responds directly to the surrounding landscape architecture, where flowing water, layered planting and moments of reflection establish a sense of calm within the city. MAWD carried this narrative into the interiors through organic forms, softened architectural lines and carefully composed spatial planning. Kitchens and bathrooms were designed as sculptural yet functional spaces, with integrated detailing and bespoke finishes selected for longevity and everyday ease.
Framed by expansive views across London, the interiors balance openness with intimacy, creating environments that support focus, reflection and moments of pause throughout the day. Natural textures, soft tonal palettes and carefully integrated lighting establish a calm architectural atmosphere, while floor-to-ceiling glazing strengthens the connection between the interior spaces and the skyline beyond.
The rooftop experience extends this narrative outdoors, where landscaped terraces, sculptural seating and layered planting create a setting that feels both elevated and restorative, bringing a quieter sense of nature into the heart of urban living.
